Hi, I’m Dan Pepper, and I’m starting my 15th year with Davenport Community Schools. I began my career as a middle school choir director at Sudlow, a role I loved until 2020, when I transitioned into my current position as a Technology Innovator. The shift from music to tech was a natural one—directing a choir often means wearing every hat: tour manager, fundraiser, sound and lighting tech, music librarian, and more. That experience helped me develop a strong sense for systems—what works well, what doesn’t, and how to build solutions that make a real difference.
While my day job now focuses on helping educators and students use technology in meaningful ways, I still direct choir at St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoy writing and recording music whenever I can find the time.
I’m also heavily involved with Quad City Music Guild. I’ve performed onstage in the past, but after having kids, I shifted my focus behind the scenes. I've served on the board for nine years and currently oversee our social media, website, and publicity photos.
Outside of work and the arts, I’m married to Melissa Pepper, and we have two energetic boys—Grayson (10) and Brooks (6)—who keep life busy and fun.
